MEETINGS

The club meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday nights of each month at Nikki's West Restaurant in Birmingham, AL. We eat at 6:30 and the official meeting starts at 7:30.

Those planning to eat with us should arrive just before 6:30 p.m. and gather in the meeting room. The restaurant prefers we all go through the serving line together, so bypass the food line and proceed into dining area. Tell one of the floor supervisor ladies that you are with the "treasure hunters" and they will direct you to our meeting room. At 6:30 we'll get our food and spend some time together before the meeting starts.

At 7:30 the meeting is called to order. A typical agenda would include a reading of the minutes, old business and new business issues discussed, ending with our finds contests, raffles and coin bingo game.

When the meeting is over and we've paid the food bill, we gather in the parking lot (depending on weather) and chat about metal detecting and treasure hunting, brag about old hunts and finds, plan hunting trips and just about anything else.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in WBTHA is accomplished by making the desire known at one of our club meetings or to one of our members and paying a membership fee. The fee to become a WBTHA member is $15 with an annual renewal of $10. Memberships are renewed January 1st of each year. At the current time the membership renewal fee may be waived by "working" at the club-hosted Annual Deep South Treasure Hunt.

A benefit of membership is a club sponsored members-only hunt. As part of the hunt, members are treated to a free breakfast before the hunt.

WBTHA is a club member of the FMDAC, and club members may apply for membership in this national organization through the club (individual membership also available). Membership applications and renewals are sent in to FMDAC in December of each year along with a $5 membership fee for each member. This fee is paid for by WBTHA with reimbursement expected from club applicants.
