A group of us spent another nice Saturday hunting at Titusville Memorial Park in Birmingham. We found plenty of wheat pennies again, but only one silver coin.
At our club meeting on the 3rd we had a new visitor Jason Heeter, who spends about 2 weeks a month in Birmingham. Jason is a detectorist from Florida and wanted to hook up with a local club to find hunting buddies while he is in town. So we invited him to the hunt and he showed up. Glad to have you, Jason.

And a few other pictures of the guys. Sorry, we didn't get a shot of everybody.

But I did manage to get a group shot with me, James, Jason and Gary.

AND NOW THE FINDS!
Though I didn't find any silver, the signal on this find had me pretty excited. A nice quarter signal at about 4 inches. A few weeks earlier I had a similar signal that turned out to be a walking Liberty half.

Gary made some nice finds, too, including a a silver ring
and a
James Madison presidential token.

Earlier in the week Gary made this find at the park. It looks like a dime that has been mounted as a piece of jewelry. Though on first look the coin passed as real, but it just seemed strange. The back of of the "coin" could be seen through the mount and it was completely smooth. Those of us that looked agreed that it was probably fake.

At the end of the day, Lawrence and I showed how good we did by sadly comparing our junk finds with each other.

Oh, well. Still a good day hunting.
Hope you do, too.
