After our luck last week at Ramsey High School we decided to go back this week, and were joined by Eddie Goswick and Don Williamson. We hunted the school all morning and made some nice finds. Here's a couple of Google images of the school.

After lunch we headed over to Brother Brian Park (still named Magnolia Park on some maps). This is where all the pictures were taken. JamesV dug a wheat penny and GaryD found a neat button with a sailing ship on it.

After an hour or so we moved on again, this time to Avondale Elementary school where JamesV made the only older find, a Mercury dime.

And finally, we moved once more to Avondale Park where the only older find, a wheat penny, was made by EddieB. This is an old park with a lot of history, even being home to a zoo for some period of time. Here's a view of the park today and an old 1910 photograph of the wading pool at the park.

As it began to get dark we headed back to the cars. With the Christmas holidays upon us, we didn't know how soon we would be able get out to hunt. But once again, it was a very nice day to be out and metal detect with some friends.

Here's what we found.

GaryD had a really good day with a souvenier from Stone Mountain Georgia, a one centavoPilipina coin (info link), a ten pfenning coin from Nazi Germany (info link), a nice buffalo nickel, 2 silver dimes and a silver piece of jewelry, the cool looking button with the ship on it, and a couple of Alcoholics Anonymous tokens. (I'm not sure what the object is to the right of the ship button.)

JamesV had his silver dime and at least one wheat penny and a watch.

EddieB had a bunch of clad, a watch, a silver ring, 3 wheaties and a silver quarter.

If I get photos from EddieG and DonW I'll post those as well.
